IIIO

E has been looking forward to this day for months. I have been using it as "leverage" for the same amount of time. It is E's birthday and also the final day of exams!

E had it all planned out but who do you think has to execute it. In theory it was simple. In reality, handling 19 kids was not so....

Despite me trying to discourage her all year, E insisted on an Ice Skating outing (cum party). The thought of all these kids that I am responsible for loose in an enclosed area with sharp blades everywhere just didn't seem like a good idea. I relent, cos it is her birthday. Besides, nobody else seemed to find ice skating a dangerous sport! Plus, seeing as she stayed firm on wanting ice skating all year despite my efforts to dissuade her showed me that she REALLY wanted it. Luckily I had a couple of mums willing to help me with the transportation.

First stop. KFC. I personally dislike KFC hence I almost never take the kids there. That would be another reason why it was E's top choice for where to eat on her birthday. No pictures of the kids there cos it was just crazy hectic.

LESSON LEARNED: Don't let 19 kids choose what they want to eat / drink.

Next stop, The Rink. I couldn't believe how many ppl there were on a weekday. Most still had exams too.

Tickets. Rental. Skate. It was a lot less stressful than I anticipated. Mainly cos most were really big enough to sort out sizing and putting on skates without too much help. I am pleased.

The Rink - Crowded!
There was a fixed skating time of 3-5pm. This means EVERYONE gets out of the rink at 5pm. I anticipate this and decide it is a bad idea. I get the best skater to round up the troops at 4:45pm else we would ALL be queueing to return our skates at the same time! Luckily the girls were not too upset to be pulled out a few minutes earlier. They were looking forward to cake!

Smiling faces - Post Skating

Back home we go, for cake cutting.

HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY EMMA!!!!!!!

Hanging Out playing and waiting for Pick Ups

"Goodie Bags"

I couldn't bring myself to assemble a goodie bag this year, so everyone got a book to go instead. Anyway, at age 10, aren't they too old for goodie bags????

HAPPY BIRTHDAY my sweet Emma! I can't believe you are a decade old now. Mummy loves you tons. xxx
