Mum's 63rd Birthday

This year, mum had several birthday celebrations. This one was on the eve of her birthday. Us kids decided to take her some place she hadn't been - Shinji @ Raffles Hotel. Food wise was just ok for the price, but what was important was the company. I think I speak for all of us when I say we all had a great time chatting, just us, no kids.

In my personal opinion, I have the best mother in the whole wide world.

Happy Birthday Mum!!! Xxxxx

Scoot, Scootier, Scootiest

Bought the 3 girls their first scooters. Emma and Cate got the cheaper 2 wheelers. Had to get Sophie the slightly pricier 3 wheeler since she won't be able to balance so well yet.

They are all thrilled with their scooters. Sophie less so when she realised hers was different to her 姐姐's!

Also got little bicycle bells for each of their scooters from DAISO. Fab.

They are so much easier and more portable than bikes! Perfect for quick trips to the park.

Pleased....

Sidney Kong (1921-2010) - The Gentleman with an Iron Fist

15 September 2010 was a sad day in my life. My dear 公公passed away at 1025am. It was not a bad thing as he was feeling very poorly in the last few weeks and it was very painful to watch him suffering....

公公was quite the character. He was very strong, and opinionated, and he didn't care to sugar-coat his words. He just told everything like it was. Nobody would dispute that. Some may not have liked him for that, but to me it was 公公 and I loved every single bit of it. I wouldn't dream to trade that for the more conventional cuddly grandpa.

We had our usual banters - 公公would say something politically incorrect, I would tell him off, he would smack my head (really hard) followed by a smackeroo (that's what he called a kiss). I will forever miss those moments.

Dinners at 公公's were frequent where he would cook my favourite foods and we would talk for several hours late into the night. Again, more smacks and smackaroos....

公公, I will miss you dearly and you will always be in my heart.

From your loving granddaughter, Peng xxxxx
