The Tiny Feet Gene Strikes Again...

I have always been conscious of my tiny feet. I am now about a UK size 4 I think (35.5 EUR). I also think each pregnancy helped increase my shoe size permanently by a little!

People always think that big feet are a pain, but having small feet are a pain too.... you perpetually look like you have bound feet and when you wear high heels,.... suddenly your feet look even tinier!!!!

The other day I was just standing in the lift and caught the site below....

Looks like Cate was not spared by the tiny feet genes... Sorry sweetie.... you got that from Mummy's side of the family. Nanny is like a size 2!!!

To exercise or not to exercise.....

Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker

Well,... I am into my 2nd trimester now and have pretty much got the green light from the OBGYN to do whatever activities my body is used to doing from before I was pregnant.

Somehow, I am not jumping at it though. When I first stopped, I was all grumpy and pissed off about having to be all inactive,.... but now I am all dragging my feet. Well, I think part of it is that I am still not out of the 1st trimester "feeling crappy" blues. I am perpetually STARVING with NO APPETITE. It is a strange and very frustrating position to be in.

Anyway last night, after much deliberation, I concluded that I will not start any exercise until I get my appetite back cos extra activity will just get me hungrier and it would SUCK more to be EVEN MORE STARVING with STILL NO APPETITE. I was happy with that decision....

Will keep y'all updated!!!.....

Me and My ASUS

Me and My ASUS

Check out what gadgety-hubs got me. The ASUS Eee PC. I've always told him from years back that I want a small basic laptop that I can just switch on and off without all the palava of boot ups and shutdowns. Nothing fancy, just basic functionality. I didn't want a PDA cos this stylus business just never took off with me.

Believe it or not, they didn't have anything really worth talking about until now - The ASUS Eee PC for less than SGD600!!!

It runs on Linux which is a pretty lightweight OS yet I can pretty much do most of what I like to do..... e.g. Surfing (blogging), MSN, email. The keyboard while small, is large enough for me to be able to touch type. I can't really work on it cos I need a bigger keyboard and screen to be able to work properly for long hours... but I didn't get this to do work on anyway, so no issue. I got it more for the last bit of blogging or messaging in bed before lights out. Or maybe something to bring with me for a pedicure or foot reflexology. (It fits into my handbag easily.) With Wireless@SG, you can pretty much get connectivity anywhere!

Ahh.... I am addicted. I just turn it on in the evenings lying in bed just for the hell of it.... Thanks Paul! :x One of the few gadgets you've bought me that I actually like.... :P

Size difference between my HP nc6220 and my ASUS Eee PC - Cute!

Donut Night

We had dinner across the road and noticed that Renaldo's the dessert place that used to have really good strawberry strudel (pretty much the same as Ritz Apple Strudel) has been replaced by a donut place. (I forget the name). Anyway we thought we would give the kids a treat, so the Chew's had Donut Night!!!

I am not sure that it is the same standard as the popular donut joints like Donut Factory but it could be because there was no long queue to sway my judgement... Anyway I am not a donut person at all so I am not the best judge.

Emma and Cate enjoying their DONUTS!!!

They had these really CUTE baby donuts. Perfect for the girls. Check it out below.

Papa Donut with Baby Donuts.
(No Mummy Donut cos Mummy was feeling nauseas....BAH!)

The Hunt for TWIGLETS!!!

Ok,... so who has some twiglets for me. I am not really sure if they have them in Singapore but the last time I had them was when I was in school in London. The packaging was different then though (white).

Anyway, this is probably related to my Marmite craving, but I kind of need some Twiglets. So if you have some,... GIMME!!! or if you know where I can get hold of some.... TELL ME!!!!....

Feed me..... FEED ME NOW!!!!

What a lovely mess behind me...

I am always working in my study,.... and one day I was so absorbed in my work, I didn't realise that Emma and Cate had happily snuck into my study and made themselves at home! I turned around and was greeted by a lovely mess of little girls behind my chair!!!..... HAPPINESS..... :D

Child-Friendliness....

Check out this toilet at the Hong Kong airport. There is a little baby seat so that you can place your baby there while you go about with whatever you need to do in the loo.

For those who haven't got kids,.... I guess you don't realise that when poor mummy is out alone with say her 6 month old tot without a stroller (using a carrier instead which I often did), you pretty much have to just HOLD IT ALL IN till you get home!!!

I have seen this in Japan as well..... How I wish Singapore would get more child-friendly like this.

Highlights on how Singapore is NOT child-friendly:
  • No baby seats in toilet as shown in pic above

  • There are stairs everywhere going into shopping centres. It may be a little flight of 5 steps but I still have to carry the freakin' pram up and down those same 5 steps!!!

  • Many toilets don't have changing tables. Some buildings that do, ONLY have them in the ladies toilets!!!! What if I am out with Paul and it is NOT MY TURN!!!!

  • Not many nursing rooms around.

I go out with the kids alone quite a lot, so this child-UNfriendliness is quite apparent to me.

Ok,.... to be fair, Singapore is great for kids in lots of other ways:

  • Safe

  • Clean

  • Good education (debatable to be too stressful)

  • Good health care

  • Most restaurants have high-chairs
Anyway,....comon' Singapore!!!..... get your act together!!!
